global education resource guide
This guide serves as an introduction to the study and promotion of globalized education. It is meant to introduce Maine teachers and Auburn community members to globalized pedagogy and invite ideas, suggestions and collaboration in the area of globalizing curriculum. This guide provides rationales for and an introduction of Global Competency. A list of public and private community and state-based organizations dedicated to global communication and collaboration is included in this digital resource in order to assist interested Maine teachers in obtainment of speakers or professional development opportunities on this subject. This guide includes numerous examples of globalized curriculum, standards revisions, lesson plans, and unit plans that are currently being used in classrooms across Maine, The United States and the world. Suggestions are provided for how to assess current levels of global competency and technological literacy and will help educators with where to start in their own schools.
